It's Not Just the Shingle — It's the System (and Who Installs It)
Two Identical Shingles, Two Very Different Roofs
Take the exact same GAF shingle and put it on two houses. On one, it's nailed in the right zone, sealed to a complete system of underlayment and flashing, and vented properly. On the other, it's nailed a half-inch too high, laid over worn-out felt, with corners cut around the edges. Same shingle — wildly different roof. One lasts for decades; the other starts leaking in a few winters.
The shingle usually gets the credit, but the system and the crew are what actually decide how a roof performs. That's why we install a complete GAF system instead of just "putting on shingles" — a great roof replacement is a set of components engineered to work together, installed by people who get every one of them right.

What a GAF Roofing System Actually Includes
A roof isn't one product — it's a layered system, and GAF engineers each piece to work with the next. It starts with a starter strip along the eaves and rakes to lock down the first course and resist wind. Deck protection — a synthetic underlayment — covers the wood decking as a moisture barrier, with a self-adhering leak barrier at the vulnerable eaves and valleys. Then come the architectural shingles, a matching ridge cap to finish the peaks, and balanced attic ventilation so the whole assembly can breathe. Leave one component out and you weaken the rest, which is exactly why we install the full system rather than a partial one.
"From start to finish, everything went as smoothly as it could. The work they did is perfect. They were quick, professional, and clean."

The StrikeZone Nailing Area
Where a shingle is nailed matters just as much as that it's nailed at all. GAF's Timberline HDZ features the StrikeZone nailing area — a wider, high-visibility target that helps crews hit the right spot with up to 99.9% nailing accuracy. Nails placed in the correct zone hold dramatically better, which means far fewer blow-offs when the wind picks up. It's a small detail on paper that makes a big difference on your roof during a nor'easter.
Call (855) 446-6887How Dynamic Installs a GAF Roof
A complete system only protects your home if every layer goes on the right way. Here's the process we follow on every install.
Deck Inspection
We tear off the old roof and inspect the wood decking, replacing any rotted or soft sections before anything new goes down.
Synthetic Underlayment
A synthetic deck-protection layer goes over the decking — tougher and more water-resistant than old-school felt paper.
Drip Edge & Flashing
Metal drip edge and step and valley flashing direct water away from your fascia, walls, and roof penetrations.
Leak Barrier
A self-adhering leak barrier seals the eaves and valleys — the spots most prone to ice dams and wind-driven rain.
GAF Shingles
We install the shingles by the book, nailing in the StrikeZone for maximum holding power and wind resistance.
Ridge Vents & Clean Sweep
Ridge vents finish the peak for balanced attic airflow, then we run magnetic sweepers across your yard and driveway to collect every stray nail.
Understanding Your GAF Warranty Options
The Base: Shingle & Accessory Warranty
Every GAF roof comes with a base limited warranty that covers the shingles and qualifying GAF accessories against manufacturing defects. It's solid, standard coverage — the floor, not the ceiling, of what GAF offers.
On its own, this is roughly what you'd get from any install that happens to use GAF products, without the extras that come from a certified, full-system build.
The Upgrade: System Plus Warranty
When you install a complete GAF system through a factory-certified contractor, you can unlock the enhanced System Plus limited warranty — stronger coverage with an extended workmanship term. It's GAF's way of rewarding roofs that are built the right way, with the full set of components.
We build to the System Plus level rather than GAF's top-tier Golden Pledge, so you get strong, certified-backed coverage without the added cost that comes with the highest tier.
How Your Roof Qualifies
System Plus isn't something you can buy off the shelf — it's earned by two things: installing the complete GAF system, and having a GAF-Certified contractor do the work. As a certified installer, Dynamic Home Improvements meets that second requirement, and we build the full system to meet the first.
We'll walk you through exactly which coverage your project qualifies for. Curious what certification really means? Our guide on what GAF certification means for your roof breaks it down.
